In their article The Evolution of the Vampire from Stoker\u27s Dracula to Meyer\u27s Twilight Saga Dijana Vučković and Ljiljana Pajović Dujović analyze the metamorphosis of the vampire character from the Victorian fin de siècle to the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Vučković and Pajović Dujović consider the evolution of the vampire in the context of several important changes: emergence of the vampire from the dark/death in the light/life and separation from the home soil; improving the vampire species through crossbreeding, i.e., hybridization with people; bringing the characteristics of vampires closer to very desirable human characteristics and losing those properties that make it a monster, which allows an interiorization of the vampire character. Then there is the transition of the vampire character from adult fiction into the literature for children and young people and his taking up of the role of a fairy or a fairy-tale assistant which considers a variety of fears from present conditions of growing up, maturing and specifically suggests the fear of the future. The dominant literary characters analyzed are Count Dracula by Bram Stoker and Edward Cullen from the Twilight television series who represents the new vampire character

The paper presents the concept of mother tongue in primary schools in Montenegro. The author has presented the structure of the Curriculum as well as its basic components: operational objectives, activities, events, concepts, and correlations. The author has explained the organization of the curriculum consisting of two areas: language and literature, and analyzed the fundamental distinction between the modern to the traditional curriculum. The analysis indicates some of the important assumptions that have significantly influenced the innovation of the overall program concept: a system of the key competences for lifelong learning, PISA definition of reading literacy, theory of literary reception. The program contains numerous elements that can strongly influence the promotion of mother tongue teaching, proposes a variety of teaching methods and forms of work suggesting the usage of modern strategies and teaching techniques, as well as numerous and diverse sources of knowledge which are directed towards learning outcomes that are aligned with Bloom's taxonomy for the cognitive area. The goal of this study is twofold: firstly, we want to explore specific identity that has been emerging as a consequence of many EU-related changes (e.g. development of transport, ICT, increasing number of different EU programs and new EU policies); secondly, we want to test the role of social media in building this new identity that we call EUens (European Union citizens). Conducting in-depth interviews with 25 EUens we find that some issues which are commonly seen as important factors in European identity construction, such as class and political attitudes, do not play any significant role in constructing European identity for members of our group. Secondly, our analysis suggests that social media have potential of becoming important driver of European identity.

The article presents the results of research of the study success at the University of Montenegro (UoM). The theoretical framework of the study points to the complexity and multidimensionality of the problem studied. The aim of the research was to identify the success of studying at UoM. Some of the variables were observed statistically, with the evidence based on empirical data. We have followed the relationship between the completed secondary school, regional characteristics and gender dimensions at the completion of bachelor studies in the foreseen time period, in the fields of study: natural and technical, social-humanistic and artistic (total of 19 faculties, N = 4 517). The results of research reject the hypothesis about the outstanding success of the study, i.e., the overproduction of diplomas, because 27,5 % of students graduated in natural and technical sciences, and 32 % in the field of social and humanistic sciences up-to-date. Higher success is noted only in the art disciplines (74,6 %). The results and their interpretation point to the need for introducing a qualification exam during enrolment, reducing the number of the enrolled at individual faculties, but also continually improving and innovating teaching and learning at the university. The results suggest the necessity of innovations in order to improve study success. Starting with students’ enrolment university need to develop innovative approaches in the area of teaching and learning, but also monitoring and evaluation

Background: A noteworthy attempt has recently been made to extend the same or analogous evaluation criteria traditionally employed in natural and technical sciences to social sciences and humanities domains. However, this endeavor has sparked considerable reactions among researchers, leading to robust discussions and debates. Objectives: This research aims to describe the scholars’ perception of the research quality evaluation in Montenegro\u27s social sciences and humanities. Methods/Approach: Focus-group interviews in which 25 interlocutors from various fields of social sciences and humanities were used. The participants discussed the given topic in five focus group interviews and were prompted by questions that specified the topic. Results: Different perceptions occur within the social sciences and humanities and are visible within individual areas. Respondents think that the current way of evaluating the results of research work in social sciences and humanities ignores the specificities of research methodologies and practices. Conclusions: The respondents show a common element of perception, i.e., that the research quality evaluation in the social sciences and humanities must be multidimensional, meaning that it must include the necessary indicators adjusted to concrete research field as much as possible but also contain agreeably qualitative criteria

Vampiric dance macabre and its literary metamorphosis

This century’s vampiric danse macabre of the Twilight Saga (2005–2008) by Stephanie Meyer differs significantly from the danse macabre at the times of publication of The Vampire (1819) by John Polidori and Dracula (1897) by Bram Stoker. Therefore, it connotes a new pathology of individuals and society. The vampire is a deeply connotative literary hero created for the purposes of age-old mythological representation of the universe. Especially during the Middle Ages it began to be recognized as an experience of the human with the most basic knowledge of the world until the Victorian literature promoted it into a literary hero. The vampire started "performing" its literary danse macabre in the historic times (19th century) loaded with so many taboo topics. Since during his initial literary performances he "infected" society with different "viruses", the vampire acquired the role of an effective literary hero. He became an integral part of the narrative structure which tried to highlight the dark side of the human personality. His transformative power materialized through the duality of the vampire’s split persona, which became a particularly potent device of his literary existence. As a character who, not coincidentally, updates himself in the times of crisis, he got reconstructed several times during the 20th century. Thanks to his ability of transformation, the vampire character has survived the 20th century and transferred his literary force into the new millennium

This paper discusses a teaching methodology approach to the acquisition of literary terms in the lower grades (1 to 5) of primary schools in Montenegro. In the first part of the paper, the author presents the theoretical framework of the research problem, giving a short analysis of the curriculum. The objective of this study was to identify teachers\u27 opinions on the adoption of literary terms in the lower grades. The technique of focus interviewing was used on a sample of 45 classroom teachers. The research results have proved that teachers fail to devote enough attention to literary and theoretical concepts. Their personal opinion is that they are not satisfied with the cognitive effects of teaching literature. Some of the reasons given can be categorized as objective difficulties, while there are those that should be recognized as a need for additional training for teachers. The results of this study correspond with findings reported by numerous authors and with nearly unanimous assessment of experts that teaching literature must be reformed in many ways if we wish the crisis of reading as a global phenomenon to start being systematically treated from the very beginning of compulsory education.U radu se razmatra metodički pristup usvajanju književnoteorijskih pojmova u nižim razredima (1. do 5.) osnovane škole u Crnoj Gori.

Female Hero-Seekers in Folk Fairy Tales From XIX Century: Feminist Stories for Reading in Education

The aim of the paper is to present several fairy tales from Giuseppe Pitrè’s collection as a potentially interesting reading material for children. Since classical fairy tales in some cases depict traditional gender roles, they can present an obstacle to children’s gender construction. Therefore, it is also important to read those stories which do not have a stereotypical gender discourse. We found such stories in Pitrè’s collection of folk fairy tales from the 19th century. In the paper we present the analysis of the structure of several folk fairy tales from Pitrè’s collection. The analysis has been performed according to Propp’s structuralist method, while the task was to determine the morphology of those fairy tales dealing with female hero-seekers. Such heroines correspond to the feminist perspective and they are convenient for reading in education for the purpose of children’s constructions of gender not exclusively provided by normative canons. The model of critical reading, which we suggest for reading the analyzed fairy tales, has been founded on reader-response criticism
